Champions at Bowls

The Champion of Champions pairs tourney conducted by the Manawatu Bowling Centre, was commenced on Saturday with the following results:— First round: Voitre and Christensen (Hoko.) 22 beat Huff and Tunnicliffe (Fx.) 12. Locn and Bewley (Northern 18 beat Allan and Velvin (M’tu.) 17. Second round: Gilberd and Taylor (P.N.) 25 beat VVass and Ridley (Takaro) 9. Voitre and Christensen (Hoko.) 24 beat Holloway and Young (D’vke.) 13. Loch and Bewley (Northern) 37 beat Hart and Ramsay (Oroua) 14. Third round: Loch and Bewley 22 beat Gilberd and Taylor 15. Voitre and Christensen 30 beat Snell and Davidson (T.E.) 10. The finals will be played at a later date. It all depends on whether Bewley is in Northern Fours Champion of Champions, which will be played on the Manawatu green on Saturday, March 13, at 9 a.m. The centre’s Veterans’ Day will take place on Palmerston North green on .Wednesday next at 9 a.m,
