U.S. Has No Designs On South American Bases
Received Sunday, 8.20 p.m. WASHINGTON, Mar. 6. “Tho United States has no intention of establishing permanent Western Hemisphere military bases affecting in any way the territorial sovereignty of any American republics," said Mr. Sumner Welles to the press. He added: “It is time the Nazi lie suggesting that the United States is seeking permanent Latin American footholds was knocked on the head."
