The bride, who entered tho church escorted by her father, made a lovely picture in a trained gown of magnolia satin cut on classical lines, featuring a high neckline around which was wc r n a triple string of pearls. From a halo of orange blossoms fell the beautiful veil of Honiton lace (kindly loaned by Mrs. •T. R. Middleton, of Palmerston North). She carried a show*er bouquet of carnations, lilies and maiden hair fern, the gift of Mrs. Hope, of Palmerston North.
In attendance on the bride were Miss Isobella Titcombe, sister cf the bridegroom, and Miss Kathleen McKay, a friend. Both bridesmaids were dressed alike in frocks of teal taffeta made with heart-shaped necklines and full skirts trimmed with rucked bows. On their heads w r ere worn heart-shaped caps of teal taffeta, the centre of each bearing a spray of flowers. Silver shoes were worn, and shower bouquets composed of pink dahlias, carnations and maiden hair fern completed charming toilettes. From each bouquet hung a silver wishbone.
The bridegroom was attended by Private R. E. Davey, brother of the bride, as best man, and Trooper A. C. McArtney, of Foxton, as groomsman. During tho signing of the register Miss Jean Masters sang “I’ll Walk Beside You.” After the ceremony a reception was held at the Town Hall where the guests were received by Mrs. Davey, wearing a black frock trimmed with white, a fur stole and a Shoulder spray of carnations and maiden hair fern. She wore a black hat and shoes. She was assisted by Mrs. Titcombe, wearing a navy blue ensemble with touches of white, a navy hat and shoes, with a shoulder spray of gladioli and maiden hair fern. After the reception the young couple left for the south, the bride travelling in a dusky pink fijock and turquoise coat, with black accessories, and a fur stole, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom’s gift to Miss McKay was a gold horseshoe pendant, and to Miss Titcombe he gave a black purse. A danco was held during the evening and the many beautiful gifts were displayed at tho hall. Items were given by Misses Masters and Miss Dulcie Flyger.
