Patriotic Shop

The first three days of last week were taken by the Farce Is ' Committee (convenor, Mrs. S. U. Northey). Receipts were £3O 7s sd. Mrs. Northey desires to thank the ladies who staffed the shop and the puolic for support. The latter part of the week, Hokowhitu and College (Street schools were in. Mesdames P. Cox and P. E. Crowther were j in charge for Hokowhitu and Mcsdame.s j L. Gusli and M. Ayers for College ! Street. Exceilont organisation and cooperation by the parents, teachers and scholars resulted in £-19 11s 7d; total for the week being £79 19s. Thanks are due to the ladies of the staff and to all who supported this effort. Cash donations are acknowledged from the following:—Mesdames Lloyd, Greenfield, It. Hunt and P. Lusk. Donations of prizes for competition for the Parcels' Committee aro acknowledged: — Box of groceries, Watson Bros.; cup, saucer and plate, Watchorns Ltd.; electric iron, Barraud & Abraham; electric radiator, Goldingham & Beckett; teasel, Parcels' Committee. For Hokowhitu and College Street schools: — -51 b. flour and worked apron, Mrs. L. Gush; table centre, Mrs. Ayers; fruit cake, Well-wisher; £1 grocery order, Committees; dinner, Hokowhitu Committee; bib. tin honey, Hokowhitu Committee. This week, the shop committee is in charge. Goods for sale will be appreciated.
