(From Our Own Correspondent.) At the first meeting of the year, of the Women’s Fellowship, Mrs. R. Humphrey presided and extended a welcome to all, expecially mentioning Mr. and Mrs. Robinson. A welcome was also extended to the two new babies. The secretary, Mrs. A. Laing, read an interesting letter from Mrs. Taylor, who was at the Conference in Christchurch. Members are reminded to bring their used stamps to the next meeting on March 17th. It was decided to give a donation of 10s to the Soldiers’ Parcels' Fund. An interesting talk was given by Mrs. Robinson, of Halcombc. The winner of a competition arranged by Mrs. Walker, was Mrs. Carey, while Mrs. Thompson won the lucky number. The hostesses for March will bo Mesdames Humphrey and Bowater, with Mrs. Hislop social steward. Mrs. 1L Humphrey made reference to the fact that Mr. and Mrs. Robinson would soon be leaving and asked her to accept a small gift from the Fellowship along with best wishes. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames rearson and {Signal. There was an excellent attendance at the card evening held recently when opportunity was taken to make the usual presentation, to Mrs. L. Portcli for Mr. Dortch (who is overseas).
Miss L. Baker has returned after holidaying with her sister, Mrs. G. Walker and Mr. Walker at Auckland. Mrs. W. D. R. Baker and family are spending a holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas at Ngaio. Mr. R. Shalders, of the South Island, is staying with liis brother, Mr. A. E. Shn lders.
Mr. and Mrs. Livingstone and family, of Dannevirke, were recent visitors to Mr. and Mrs. Walker.
