Curious Weakness In Radio Location
Received Friday, 11.50 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 26. The Air Ministry reveals that “sncalc’’ raiders are undetectable before their arrival over the coast o 1 Britain because no form of radio location functions reliably in picking up low-flying planes. The Daily Mail’s aeronautical correspondent points out that this curious weakness in one of the war’s greatest scientific wonders, has prompted Britons and Germans to intensify fighter-bomber low-flying attacks at “zero” feet. The R.A.F. has exploited this weakness far more than the enemy.
