Dedication Festival Of St. John’s Church

To-morrow the Dedication Festival of St. John’s Church will be observed. This will mark the completion of the Diamond Jubilee year of the Church. To mark this jubilee, it was decided by the vestry that a fund be raised to wipe out the debts of tho parish. All the collections tin Sunday will go towa.vds this object. It is expected that the total amount required will be raised as many generous subscriptions have been already received. Tho services to-morrow will all be of a Thanksgiving naturp. At 8 o’clock, Holy Communion will be celebrated, at which service all communicants are expected to be present. The preacher at 11 o’clock will be the Rev. F. E. Fluery, Vicar of Kiwitea. Evensong at 7 p.m. will be fully choral. Special music, including the anthem, “O Give Thanks” and “Gloria in Excelsis” will be sung by the choir. Tho preacher at this service will be the A T icar and at the close of the service, the amount raised for the debt extinction fund will be announced.
