A.N.A. Club for Feilding

Delegates attending the meeting of Zone E Patriotic Committee in Feilding on Thursday eveuing unanimouslyagreed to approve of the proposal to establish an A.N.A. Club in Feilding in order to meet the requirements of the troops from the several camps established adjacent to the town. Mr. T. L. Seddon (chairman) stated that the question had been put to him by officials who considered that there was a definite need for some club facilities for the men who had nowhere to go when on leave. He had taken the matter up with the Provincial Patriotic Council and Hon. Vincent AVard had advised that if the Zone Committee approved he would then visit Feilding to go into the question of providing for a suitable building. Mr. Seddon said that there was no building at present available but a suggestion or two had been offered and it was possible that some suitable arrangement would be come to for the leasing of premises. Mr. M. E. Perreau (Foxtou) said that he favoured the idea of making provision for the recreation of the soldiers. One could not do too much for these young men who were away from their homes and required looking after. The meeting had no hesitation in approving of the proposal and Mr. Seddon stated that he would communicate the decision to Hon. Vincent AVard and take steps to endeavour to secure suitable premises.
