Boys’ High School Swimming
The Palmerston North Boys’ High School annual swimming sports were held yesterday under perfect weather conditions, a large percentage of boys participating. The usual line standard of swimming was maintained, resulting in the breaking of several records. The Langley cup for contestants under II was won by B. Heaphy, while the Clare intermediate cup was gained by A. Fyfe. The school champions were:— Senior, R. Denton; intermediate, A. Fyfe; junior, B. Heaphy.. Championship results are as under: — Senior championships.—soyds breaststroke: J. Brooke 1, R. Emmett 2, W. Nichols 3. 50yds freestyle: R. Denton 1, AV. Nichols 2, R. Emmett 3. Time, 29secs, equal to record. Senior dive: I. Donald I, I. Cameron 2, G. Davies 3. 100yds: R. Denton 1, R. Emmett 2, W. Nichols 3. Time, 65 3-ssecs, a record. Intermediate championships'.—2syds freestyle: A. .Fyfe 1, I. Franke 2, D. Richardson 3. Time, 13secs, a record. 50yds: A. Fyfe 1, I. Franke 2, T. Kelly 3. Diving: D. Richardson 1, J. Brooke 2, P. Borkain 3. 100yds: A. Fyfe 1, T. Kelly 2, I. Franke 3. Time, 07secs, a record. Junior championships.—2syds freestyle: B. Heaphy 1, P. Steele 2, J. Robson 3. 50yds: B. Heaphy 1, H. Rossi 2, j. Bobson 3. Diving: G. Biebig 1, D. Clark 2, B. Major 3. 75yds; B. Heaphy 1, I. Bobson 2, D. SlcNabb 3. Due to the- absence ot Mrs. M. H. Oram, Mrs. H. Denton presented the cups to the winners.
