Wanganui Wool
APPRAISAL CONCLUDED A catalogue of 30,773 bales offered at the fourth Wanganui wool appraisal of the current season included some attractive offerings from the wide area served by this centre, stated the Wanganui Woolbrokers’ Association in their official report of the appraisal which was concluded on Thursday. Many clips which were in good condition are reported to have realised excellent prices. Unskirted and shabby wools were on a comparatively lower basis, but realised good returns. Shortage of labour was reflected iu the finish of the various lots. Skirtings showed a high percentage of discolouration and stain, resulting in some of the prices comparing unfavourably with those of last season. Well grown and free lambs’ wool was on a iileasing price level, but many lots were very mixed in length, unpicked and seedy. The next Wanganui appraisal will be held on March 8.
