Notes of the Day

This afternoon at 1.15 there will be a parade through the main streets of Fdilding of Armoured Fighting Vehicles, which will be returning from manoeuvres and the Mayor invites the public to turn out to give them a welcome. . To assist in controlling traffic in Feikling yesterday, several members of the Feilding Battalion Traffic Control Corps 1 were called out for duty under Lieut. Fippard, officer in charge. They rendered excellent service. The Patriotic Dance held in Feilding on Wednesday evening attracted a record crowd, the demands for admission exceeding the capacity of the Drill Hall and the sale of tickets had to be suspended. The evening featured the Royal New Zealand Air Force dance orchestra which provided a programme of delightful dance numbers. Feilding has never before experienced the pleasure of dancing to such excellent music and the memory of the evening will not be easily effaced.
