Mysterious Shooting
Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, April 20. The mysterious wounding in the knee of a farm employee, Ivor John Boon, aged 27, occurred in Rai Valiev, 40 miles from Blenheim, on Friday night. Mr. Boon was struck in the back of the left leg by a bullet which penetrated the knee. Mr. Boon had paid a short call to friends, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Anderson and family, and was walking towards a motor-car when he was wounded. It was a stormy night. Neither the victim nor the Andersous heard the shot. Mr. Boon fell helpless to the ground. It was some time before his cries for help were heard inside the house, which is iu an isolated locality. The police are attempting to establish if the attack was malicious or whether the wounding was accidental and the result of nocturnal deerstalking in the surrounding hills. Mr. Boon was progressing . satisfactorily this morning at the public hospital.
