Ballance Young Fanners

ADDRESS BY AIR. W. T. BROWN The monthly meeting of the Ballance Young Farmers.' Club was held on Tuesday night, when Mr. R. Day presided over a good attendance of members. Two. new members were nominated.

The chairman congratulated members of the debating team on defeating the Woodville team, thereby winning the district debating competition. After formal business was dispensed with, the chairman called on Mr. W. T. of Pahiatua, who delivered an address on “Bloat in Dairy Cows." Mr. Brown fully explained the causes of bloat and the various medicinal remedies, also the use of Trocar and Cauuia as a means of allowing the gases to escape. The speaker answered several questions and touched on some of the common diseases in dairy cows. Mr. Brown was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his interesting talk and the meeting concluded with supper.
