“No,No,Nanette” at Regent

Again proving herself a top-notch romantic comedienne, Anna Neagle scores a solid triumph in “No, No, Nanette," her new RKO Radio vehicle which show's at the Regent Theatre today as one of tho sprightliest filmmusicals of the year. Based on the Broadway hit of the same name but streamlined to strike a swifter pace and a more modern atmosphere, the story deals with a girl’s dual romance while she is endeavouring to pull her millionaire uncle out of a jam. Tho jam results from the uncle's proclivities for promising aid to beautiful women seeking careers, when he knows he can't make good without getting into hot water with his masterful wife. Nanette decides to help by finding careers to suit the impatient applicants, and she calls upon a young artist and a young theatrical producer to assist in the project. Both young men promptly fall in love with Nanette, and this in turn brings about the romantic complications of the plot as the two rivals strive to outwit one another in the race and Nanette's plan compels her to favour first one and then the other. An exciting mixup that lands all the principals a giant stratoliner en route to California forms the conclusion of the picture and brings the love affair to ail hilarious ending.
