Arrangements are in hand for the presentation of a show by members of tho Manawatu Repertory Society in Feilding on behalf of the Home Guard.

Waste paper collection is now proceeding in Feilding and Mr. E. J. Goodman, who is in charge of the depot in MacArthur Street, reported that quite a quantity of material has already come to hand.

The anniversary of Guy Fawkes Day which fell yesterday passed off without the usaul celebrations because of the Government ban on bonfires and the restrictions against tho use of fireworks. Ho doubt the pennies usually expended by children in celebration of the occasion were employed in other directions and maybe some found their way to a National Savings account book.

Messrs W. M. Little, D. J. R. Mc-Ken-gie, M. J. McLean and F. V. Viles entrained at Feilding yesterday morning for military camp for Overseas service. In aid of V.A.D. activities, the Feilding branch of the Red Cross organisation will "conduct a shop on Friday next. Gifts of produce and saleable goods are solicited and may be left at the shop on Friday morning or 'phones 467 (Mrs. Borrie) and 661 M (Mrs. Mills).
