MANY PROMINENT CITIZENS ARRESTED Received Wednesday, 1.10 a.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 2. Pro-Vichy officials recently attempted to seize power in Tahiti but failed, according to a message received in Byd ney. The Governor-General (M. Brunot; ordered the arrest of many promineiu citizens who will probably be deported. A mission superintendent at Tahiti in a letter to Seventh Day Adventists headquarters here said the plotting be gan soon after the arrival of the Governor-General although the majority of the population are de Gaulleists.
