The friends of Mr. W. Parr, Ada Street, will be pleased to hear he is now out of hospital. On holiday at Blackhead, Waipawa, is Miss Ruth Gifford Moore, of Palmerston North. Mrs. Bowler Watson, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs. A. Nicol, Karori, Wellington. Miss Joan Brown was a recent Palmerston North visitor to the Chateau, Tongariro. Miss Ruth Gifford-Moore, of Palmerston North, is spending a holiday at Waipawa. The death occurred suddenly on Monday of Mrs. Goring, wife of Rev. H. G. Goring, of the Thames Baptist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Goring resided in Wanganui from 1927 to 1934 and had numerous friends in Palmerston North. On Saturday afternoon, the girls of the Repertory Revue in Palmerston North entertained Mrs. G. Lennon at a sherry party. Mrs. Lennon has been tlieir pianist since the revue started and leaves shortly to make her residence in Wanganui. On behalf of the girls, Miss Babette Rogers presented Mrs. Lennon with a crystal vase, and thanked her for her untiring efforts to assist them at their rehearsals and performances. On Friday evening about 50 guests paid a visit to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Golding’s Line, Marton, to honour Leading Aircraftman Lindsay Thompson, who wns on special leave. A pleasant evening was spent in games, songs, competitions and musical items. Leading Aircraftman Thompson was presented with several gifts, including a tiki from his parents. All joined in wishing him the best of luck and a safe return.
