Inter-High Schools Drama Festival

EXCELLENT PERFORMANCES BY DISTRICT TEAMS For the concluding session last evening in the Inter-High Schools drama festival, teams from the Woodville District High School, Horowhenua College (Levin) and Feilding Agricultural High School presented one-act plays. There was again an extra large appreciative audience, seating room being taxed, a pleasing demonstration on the part of the Palmerston North public of the interest displayed in the efforts of the secondary schools to foster the dramatic art. The festival has proved such a success that the Little Theatre Society which sponsored it, will no doubt make it an annual event. Those taking parts last evening were as follows: Woodville: Phyllis Carrington, Richard Smith, Dorothy Peebles, Arthur Olsson, Robert Peebles and Bethel Williams. Horowhenua College: All girls. Feilding: V. J. Hughes, P. Wild, B. Campbell, P. Duffy, G. Honey field, J. Rhodes and R. White. Interlude music was provided by the Palmerston North Boys' High School string sextet, Z. Bartlett (violin sole) and the Palmerston North Technical School girls sextette (vocal). Mr. J. C. Young, president of the Little Theatre Society, voiced appreciation of the efforts of the teams which, he said, were meritorious.
