“BEAU GESTE” Gary Cooper, ably seconded by Ray Millaud and Robert Preston, and supported by a cast of noted players, ha? the most adventure-filled role of his career in Paramount’s lusty, roaring new filmisation of “Beau Geste.” When the picture screens at the Cosy Theatre to-day and to-night, Cooper will ‘be seen in the title role, as the eldest of a trio of gallant brothers, who, because each does not wish the others thought guilty of stealing a fabulously valuable sapphire from their guardian, join the French Foreign Legion. Soldiers all, loyal as only brothers can be, they endure tho hardships of the legion with a smile, bearing the brptal treatment of a mad sergeant who is determined to wrest the gem from them, protecting the secret of who stole tho jewol with their lives, their honour, their fighting hearts. Millaud and Preston are seen as the younger Geste brothers, “John” and “Digby,” respectively. Brian Donlevy, Susan Hayward, J. Carrol Naish, Donald O’Connor and James Stephenson are among the supporting cast.. The picture was produced and directed by William A. Wellman, who will be remembered for the thrill-filled “Mon With Wings.”
