S.H.B. BOARD MEETS Tho monthly meeting of the Southern Hawke’s Bay Rabbit Board, was held on Wednesday in the secretary’s office, Mr. J. C. Bolton presiding over a full attendance of memoers. Mr. Manning, of the Department of Agriculture, was also present and gave tne board valuable advice. A petition was received from ratepayers in the Ormondvilie Town districts with holdings of 10 acres or more, asking to be rated so that this area could b p rabbited. In accordance with notice of motion given at the last meeting a resolution was carried levying a rate of Id per acre over all the land in the board’s area for the year ended March 31, 1942, the rates to become payable on September 1.

The foreman reported that during the month the employees had destroyed 702 rab'bits and the position was now fairly good. The secretary advised that application had been lodged for subsidy on a £1 for £1 basis on rates collected up to June 30, amounting to £.1707 17s sd. Accounts totalling £225 17s 6d were passed for payment.
