Patriotic Work in Feilding

WOMEN’S ORGANISATION A meeting cf the Feilding Women’s Patriotic organisation was held in the Community Centre on Friday afternoon. Airs. A. Cl AlcCorkindale presiding. Ways and means of augmenting the Zone E quota of the All Purposes Appeal were discussed, and it was agreed to co-operate with the Oroua Federation of Women’s Institutes under the leadership of Airs. W. G. Short in conducting a lucky envelope day at the end of the month. Arrangements for holding sweets stalls at an entertainment to be held before the close of the appeal, were completed. Supplies of wool have been coming to hand regularly and the return of knitted garments has been prompt, bul the committee finds it necessary^to remind knitters that all articles required must be knitted to the instructions and pattern stated, otherwise articles have to be re-made, and much valuable time wasted. Alention wad made of the splendid results of the Patriotic Bhow day effort by members of the Tokorangi Women’s Institute, the Pikiahua Wao AVae Araori party, assisted by Airs. ATason Durie. Three competitions have yet to be completed —pram cover, rubber mat and piu piu. When these are finalised, a substantial amount will be added to the £7O already paid into the funds. The committee decided to offer their support to functions for raising funds for Home Guard and E.P.S. purposes.
