Dispersal Sale of Registered Sheep
WELL-KNOWN FLOCKS OFFERED At the Feilding Showgrounds yesterday 452 Southdown and Ryeland ewes comprising the stud flocks of wellknown breeders were offered for sale. [The vendors were Messrs. C. H. Williams, “Coventry” Southdown stud, Gisborne; estate of the late A. J. Faulkner, 11 Wairakaia ’ ’ Southdowns, Gisborne; M. S. Chambers, “Tauroa,” Southdowns and Ry elands, Hastings, and J. G. Jarrett, “Almadale” Southdowns, Feilding. The East Coast sheep did not look their best, having been in the yards at Feilding since last Friday, but their reputation for breeding and constitution was such that buyers had confidence in tho selection offered. Mr. Jarrett \s ewes arrived fresh and looking well and it was on account of his ill-health that the flock was dispersed yesterday. There was a fair attendance and some of the buyers present 0 were operating on behalf of some who were unable to make their own purchases. The tone was good, and the figures reaehed for the sheep were up to expectations.
