RUGBY, May 20. His Majesty the King has approved of the appointment of Major-General (temporary lieutenant-general) Sir William Dobbie as Governor and Com-mander-iu-Chief of Malta. Major-General Dobbio has been administering the Government of Malta since he assumed command of the troops in April, 1041, with the exception of a period in May, 1940, immediately before General Sir* Charles Bonham-Carter left the colony.
