(From Our Own Corespondent.) Air. George Iladford, who is now on the staff of the Wellington lire Brigade of which his brother, Mr. W. Radiord, jnr., is also a member, returned south this week to resume his duties after a three weeks’ holiday spent with his parents, Air. and Mrs. W. Radford, snr., Ballanee Street. Aliss Lena Wilkinson, Wellington, who spent several days in {Shannon with her parents, Air. and Airs. J. A. Wilkinson, Vance Street, returned to the city on Wednesday. The winners at a weekly meeting of the {Shannon-Alangaorc Cribbage Club on Tuesday night were Alessrs. J. Astwood 1, T. C. Thwaitos 2. Woek-end Golf At Alangaorc this {Saturday a mixed foursome is being played. The medal round on {Saturday last was won by I. Fraser (men) and Airs. J. Meager. At Buckley on Saturday a (Stroke competition is being played while on Sunday (May 18), a team comprising j tiro folowing will visit Oroua Downs 'for a friendly match: —Alessrs. F. i Perry, V. Picard, H. Aiabey, E. j Harding, D. Higgie, F. Picard, J. Aiabey, H. Stern, R. Graham, H. i Karenu, H. At arrow, H. Norris, T. King, iN. Birch and H. Murray. Tho following is the draw for tho Buckley Ladies’ Bogey Competition, to be play this Saturday:—Mrs. Alurrav v. Arrs. Marrow; Airs. R. Graham v. Miss Evans; Afiss N. Easton v. Afiss Park; j Afiss L. Sympathy will be extended to Air. and Afrs. F. Humphries and family, Newtown, on the sudden illness of Air. Humphries, necessitating his removal to Palmerston North on Alonday last, where he is now undergoing treatment in hospital.
