Secretaries on U.S. Mission
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 14. The Minister of Lands, Hon. F. Langstone, and Hon. J. G. Coates, M.P., member of the War Cabinet, will be accompanied on their mission to the United States of America by Mr. B. R. Turner and Mr. E. L. Officer respectively in the capacity of private secretaries. It has already been announced that three Departmental officers will also be going. Mr. Turner, who holds the B.A. and B.Com. degrees, is a member of the staff of the Minister of Finance, Hon. W. Nash, and his.duties have brought him into close touch with marketing problems. He takes a keen interest in Pacific affairs, and was secretary of the Institute of Pacific Relations before it amalgamated with the Institute of International Affairs. He was a delegate to the institute conference at Yosemite in 1938, and has written W.E.A. discussion courses on Pacific affairs.
