U.A.O.D.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Druids’ Lodge was held last Tuesday evening in the Masonic Hall, Bro. T. Petersen (A.D.) presiding over a good attendance. Prior to tho business of the meeting members stood as a mark of respect for the Grand Secretary, Bro. J. Laughton, who recently passed away. The resolution was passed to the effect that the lodge learned with deep regret of the loss of Bro. J. Laughton, whose place would be hard to fill, and besides being a good officer, he was a friend to all. A motion of sympathy was passed to the widow. Coming so soon after the death of the Grand Treasurer, the Grand Lodge will find it hard to fill these two executive positions. A long discussion took place on the medical benefits (Social Security) so that members would be conversant with the scheme. The lodge then adjourned to allow tho ritual team to have their photographs taken.
