“LUCKY TO ME” All who saw “The Lambeth Walk” will have happy memories of a good comedy, well put over. Stanley Lupino has proved himself to be an extremely popular comedian and in his new show, “Lucky to Me,” screening to-night and to-morrow at 7.45 p.m., he eclipses his comedy acts of his former success. He is not only funnier, but the plot is more hilarious and is interspersed with bright music and gay and spicy situations. The story is woven about Potty (a solicitor’s clerk), who secretly marries Minnie (Phyllis Brooks), the pretty secretary at the office. They are about to leave on their one-night’s honeymoon when Potty is ordered off to the country to advise an important client about stocks and shares. In a desperate effort to enjoy immediately their abbreviated honeymoon, Potty takes his bride with him as his secretary. At the client’s house Potty steps straight into further romantic troubles, for Peter Malden, the important client, is being turned down by his attractive fiancee, Pamela, liecause he has so much money. .She is sensitive as to the opinions of her fiance’s social friends. But Potty isn V. Soon he devises a brilliant scheme to rectify things. The plan goes dangerously "wrong from time to time and hit unhappy bride is sadly neglected in th# process, but finally his scheme succeed# and Potty is happily restored to hit exasperated Minnie—a worried, if now forgiving, wife. Included in the first half is a short of exceptional interest entitled “North Sea.” This excellent featurettes runs for 30 minutes and is the dramatic story of a Scottish fishing boat caught in a gale and of its ultimate rescue.
