ANNUAL MEETING At tho annual meeting of the Oroua Rugby Union those present were Messrs 1 N. V. Shannon (president), N. J. Guylee, P. Shannon, N. Amadio, W. Evans, 1 ]). Blue, 11. E. Harris, D. J. McKenzie, (’. W. McKay and S. G. Fitzpatrick >■ (secretary). The balance sheet showing u credit balanco of £39 17s Gd was favourably commented upon. Officers were elected as follows: —Patron, Mr. Jas Watt; president, Mr. N. V. Shannon; vice-presidents, Messrs H. E. Harris, Geo. Cowan, H. G. Frankhauser, N. J. Guy Ice, C. A. Spence; auditor, J'. IT. Billing; secretary, S. G. Fitzpatrick. It was decided to approach unit commanders of tho Homo Guard of the various centres in tho sub-union to try and como to an arrangement with whereby daylight parades can be held fortnightly so that football can be plnyed on alternate Saturdays. It was explained that the Ivimbolton and Waituna Home Guard units held daylight parades every other Saturday and if Apiti and Rangiwahia can do the same, this will enable a junior competition t<> be run. It was decided that in the event of the compotitiou being held that it be restricted to players who have not reached the age of 21 years. The primary school football competitions will start on May 31. All matches will bo played at 10 o’clock in the morning and fixtures will bo tho same as last year.
