Miss Jeanette Scott, of Glen Oroua, was the guest of Miss K. Alorgan, Troup Road, over tho week-end. Aliss Zen a Morgan, of Eltliam, is at present holidaying with Air. and Airs. C. B. Alorgan, Troup Road. | Mr. W. J. McCarthy, of Ale Lean Street, is at present indisposed, and will be confined to his bed for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Stevens, of Palmerston North, spent the week-end with tho latter’s parents, Air. and Airs. W. C. Arrow, “Sedgleigh,” Hopelands. Aliss Anderson, who for some time was manageress at the railway refreshment rooms, has now been transferred ’to Frankton. Aliss Walker, of Cami bridge, is relieving in her place. Air. Charles Twaddle, of Petone, a former resident of Woodville, is at present visiting friends in the district. He was formerly a member of the Bowling Club, and met many of his old friends at the local green on Saturday. Air. W. E. Beale, well known in this district who has now retired from active business, came to Woodville almost 30 years ago, and has occupied tho same ‘ premises for the whole of that period. (Air. Beale has been in very indifferent I health for a considerable time, and it is this which finaly necessitated bis retirement. Accompanied by Airs. Beale land their small daughter, Air. Beale intends enjoying a few weeks’ holiday before taking up residence in Palmerston North.
