FORMER FRENCH NAVY MINISTER DEAD

VICHY. Feb. 23. The death has occurred of M. Cesar Campinchi, French barrister and politician. A member of the Radical Socialist Party, he was Minister of Marine in the Chautemps Cabinet in *937, and, when M. Paul Reynaud succeeded M. Daladier as Premier in March last year, he was appointed again Minister of the Navy, but was replaced in June by Admiral Darlan under the Peiain regime.
