Papatawa Garden Circle Meets

The annual meeting of the Papatawa Garden Circle was held at the home of Mrs. S. C. Sandbrook on Tuesday, when there was a fair attendance of members.

The retiring president and secretary, Mrs. W. Harding and Mrs. F. McLeau respectively, were accoraed a hearty vole of thanks for the fine work they had accomplished during the year. Mrs. Sandbrook was appointed president for the ensuing year, while the appointment of a secretary was deferred until the next meeting. Winners of the best bloom competition were: Mrs. R. C. Cunningham (dahlia) 1, Mrs. S. C. Sandbrook (dahlia) 2, Mrs. P. Smalley (gladioli) 3.

Accumulated funds of about £5 are to be invested in a National Savings Account.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a tasty afternoon tea was served by Mrs. taudbrook.
