WOODVILLE BRANCH The annual meeting of the Woodville branch of the National Party was held in the Women’s Institute Hall on Tuesday evening, w'hen Mr. H. P. Horne, who was re-elected president, presided over a large attendance of country and town members. After the business had been completed Mr. K. J. Ilolyoake, the National candidate for the Pahiatua electorate, was welcomed and introduced by the president and was very cordially received. Mr. Holyoake delivered an address which was similar to that giveu throughout his present itinerary, touching briefly upon serveral political issues of immediato importance such as farm labour difficulties and the need for national unity at the present time, but ho devoted more attention to thf subject of branch organisation. In this connection Mr. Holyoake stressed the importance of attracting young members to the field of service, and threw out several useful suggestions for strengthening the organisation and vitalising its activities. Mr. Holyoake received a very attentive hearing, punctuated by applause, and at the conclusion, proposed a vote of thanks to tho chairman, which was carried by acclamation.
