Britons Will Have Less to Eat This Year
FOOD SHORTAGE IN EIRE ALSO Received Wednesday, 7.15 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 31. Lord Woolton. (Food Minitser) in a brodcast, warned the public that they would have to eat less in 1941. “ Th-y enemy,” ho said, ‘‘is making a direct attack on our foodstuffs and sinking quite a number and the danger it» much worse than in the last war.” A Dublin messags says the Eire Minister of Agriculture (Mr. James Ryan) in a broadcast, said the food position was rapidly becoming more serious. ‘ ‘ I am quite positive that within a very short period supplies of imported food may be cut off entirely. If we are to survive the dangers ahead all essential foodstuffs must be produced at home.”
