Ferrier Ties for Miami Amateur Honours

Received Monday, 8.5 p.m. MIAMI, Dec. 15. Jim Ferrier finished in the Miami open with 73 for a total of 287. Ferrier throe-putted on three greens to-day and finished the round in three over par. Ho declared “My putting was sour.” He plans a drive on the west coast to compete in several tournaments and will then return to Australia, Ferrier tied with Earl Christiansen for amateur honours and participates in the amateur play-off on Monday.

Byron Nelson won the tournament with 271, Heafner being second with 272.
