Private George Harford, of Feilding, is home on final leave from Papakura camp. Miss Elaine Short, A.T.C.L., L.T.C.L., is to give a recital in the Community Centre on Saturday evening. Her many pupils are well qualified to provide an entertaining evening's programme. Private W. F. Ingram, of Trentham, is visiting his home in Feilding on final leave and leaves on Tuesday for. Wellington to spend a few days with his sister, Mrs. R. Kearton, before returning to camp, A sale of work is being held in the Waituna Hall on Saturday evening next at 7.30 p.m. in aid of refugees and soldiers’ comforts. The effort is being made by pupils of the Topuae, Waituna West and Dunolly Schools, and this worthy cause commends support. When riding her bicycle along Giesen’s Road yesterday morning the little daughter of Mr. aud Mrs. T, J. Rooney fell heavily, striking ner head on the concrete footpath. It was necessary to summon medical aid after which the little sufferer was removed t 6 her home. Changes in the Feilding railway staff include the transfer from Stratford of Mr. D. R. Erickson to fill the vacancy caused by Mr, W. D. Squire, who has enlisted in the Fleet Air Arm. Prior to his departure Mr. Squire was pre sented with a shaving companion by his associates and with the gift went the very best wishes for his success.
