“Disappointment and Disgust ”
i’er Press Association. AUCKLAND, Oct. 25. Disappointment and disgust at the amount by which the petrol allowances for private motoring have been increased for tho next two months were expressed at a special meeting of the council of tho Automobile Association (Aucqland) to-day, and the following resolution was carried unanimously: ‘* It is the unanimous opinion of this meeting that from every point of view, including tho war effort, the restrictions are unjustifiably harsh. It is apparently tho intention of the Government to brush aside representations from responsible sections of the community from one end of New Zealand to the other. ’* It was decided to recommend to the North Island and South Island Motor Unions to organise a joint deputation with tho New Zealand Motor Traders’ Federation, the Associated Chambers of Commerce, the Farmers’ Union and other bodies representing public opinion to meet the Prime Minister and ask for more equitable treatment of motorists.
