From the Hub
Dear Cogs,—We have been talking aboTit going back to our old system of awarding points to the members sending in solutions to the Skilltest. This seems to he generally approved and a start will be made from Saturday next. This means that every week one point will be recorded against the name of each Cog working out the Skilltest correctly. The Cog with the most points will then receive a special prize. You will score this year because it is only about twelve weeks to the holidays. The points will be announced each week.
Writing to you last week I went into raptures about the square gardens but missed telling you about the lovliest beds of all. In the square near the P.D.C. I have been watching beds of pansies coming to their full beauty hut in my absence a miracle has happened because tulips have reared their crimson heads all in amongst the pansies. And not only are they intermingled with pansies but in other beds adjacent they are associated with white aubretia which, I believe, is very rightly named “snowdrift." Many people have visited this square in the past week and it is a real joy. A big “fairy" came to my room twice this week, first with a posy of freesias and cyclamen, then with lovely sprays of boronia. Who do you think it was? It was Mrs. Puz, but please don’t let her know I told you. Mr. Printerman is calling so once more I must leave you sending all my love. Your friend, THE HUB. P.S.—A great big “thank you" to Miss 1940 for six peggy squares.
