CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS On Saturday the Cheltenham Defence Rifle Club fired their fifth and final belt shoot in tho championship belt competition, which resulted in the A grade being, won. by H. Buchanan. At the conclusion of tho shoot at the 600 yards range it was found that Buchanan and J. Frazer had tied with 395 each, and a shoot-off was necessary. After the prescribed compulsory sighter and five counting shots had been fired these two riflemen were still equal. The result then depended on the contestants shooting off shot for shot. Frazer’s next shot was a 4 and Buchanan raised a bull 5 to win an exciting contest. P. Churcher, who had been following closely up till Saturday's shoot, experienced bad luck at the 300 yards range and had to take third place. In the B grade championship M. Barltrop won the belt with a total of 386 and will move up to A grade class. Throughout the season the markmanship has been excellent and the three leaders in the A grade did not onco shoot lower than a 96. P. Churcher, J. Frazer and H. Buchanan have each secured a score of 100.
