Exemptions From General Reserve
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 8. Natives and men whose appeals have been allowed because they conscientiously object to serving with tho armed forces are exempted from inclusion in the First Division of the General Reserve by an order issued last night. This division is to consist of all male reservists who are single and naturalborn British subjects between the ages of 19 and 46 years, with the following exemptions: Members of the armed forces liable for service cutside New Zealand, men who have been discharged because of disablement or illhealth caused by war service, and men undergoing imprisonment for a term of more than 12 months, or in confinement for unsound mind. These exceptions have now been added to by the inclusion of Natives within the Native Land Act, 1931, and men who have been called up for service with the armed forces and whose appeals have been allowed on the ground that they conscientiously object to serving with the armed forces.
