Students Enjoy End-of-term Dance

A jolly end-of-terin dance was held at Massey College last night in the refectory buildings. Pennants and wattle made an effective decoration, and a professional orchestra added greatly to the enjoyment of the evening. There was a good sprinkling of air, army and naval uniforms. A feature of the evening was the presentation of a barometer as a wedding gift to Mr. and Mrs. Geoff Wilson. The students did this in characteristic fashion, having a mock marriage ceremony, in which the bride was Mr. I. L. Land and Mr. W. L.’McLaren officiated. Mr. Geoff Wilson was then fined for bigamy. Among those present were Dr. and Mrs. Baruicoat (black quilted satin with silver coat), Dr. and Mrs. J. Melville (pale blue chiffon and silver belt), Dr. and Mrs. P. McMahon (violet crepe dc chine and cyclamen), Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Yates (brown satin), Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Eliott (blue and white floral chiffon), Mr. and Mrs. J. Hewitt (midnight blue velvet), Mr. and Mrs. Geoff Wilsor (black ring velvet), Mr. and Mrs. Hopewell (blue tulle), Miss Joan Paterson (smoke chiffon and cyclamen coat), Miss Abrahams (lemon chiffon), Mr. and Mrs. Turner (powder blue lace), Miss I. Lovelock (black taffeta), Miss Mac Nichol (marina blue taffeta), Miss Myra Williams (tartan taffeta), Miss Una Royal (white floral), Miss Babette Rogers (primrose chiffon).
