Informal Recital by Mr. Paul Schramm

Y.W.OA. PRIVILEGE Members of tho Palmerston North Y.W.C.A. and friends had the privilege on Tuesday evening of hearing a short recital by Mr. Paul Schramm, the wellknown pianist, at the home of the president of the Y.W.C.A. Board, Mrs. C. A. Small, Rongopai Street. Mr. Schramm, who was introduced by Miss M. Jones, secretary of the Palmerston North Association, presented a delightful programme comprising works of the old masters, interesting compositions by Spanish and Italian composers, concluding with a group of the moderns in works by Ravel, Debussy, Agnew and Bartok, the spirit of which was admirably captured. Spontaneous applause was accorded the artist. Mr. Schramm voiced his appreciation of the opportunity of playing to small groups of appreciative people and of the gracious hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Small, tho latter adding her thanks to the pianist for tho enjoyment he had giverf. I Supper concluded the evening.
