New Zealand’s War Effort
CALL TO ACTION New Zealanders, realising that our war effort is falling far short of what it should be, are calling loudly for leadership and prompt action. This is clearly evidenced by reports of meetings throughout the Dominion all in the samo strain. The people realise, with the gravity of the situation, that talking and half-measures will no longer suffice. Party politics must be forgotten, the cry is for leadership in the form of a small united war Cabinet of our ablest men irrespective of party, universal service and sacrifice and for immediate action. Opportunity for citizens to express their interest and views in no uncertain terms will bo given at tho public meeting in the Opera House to-night. The speakers will bo Messrs B. J. Jacobs, J. M. Gordon, J. C. Young and M. H. Oram. His Worship the Mayor will preside.
