GERMANS HEAVILY BOMB REAR OF B.E.F. LINES

(Received 22, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, May 21. The British United Press correspondent with the B.E.F. says: “The Nazis to-day sent over waves of bombers. This town was heavily bombed, and several British soldiers were wounded during an attempt to obliterate the town, which is a link in the British lines of communication “It is evidently th e Germans’ aim to destroy it as they have wiped out other towns and villages in Belgium and Northern France, whether of military or non-military imoortanca."-

i in carrying out tho work they are doing, but I ask if Cabinet Ministers in control of their departments can give the necessary undivided attention to the country's supreme war effort?” Mr. Mac Gibbon added that the country was fortunate in having a Prime Minister who gave co-operation and help and was receptive to what was said to him. Mr. Mac Gibbon added: “Do not allow in tho Dominion anything of a panic. There has been a suggestion in some centres that there should be a march to Parliament House and perhaps force the Government to do something. I say we are a democracy and must not have anything out of sympathy with a democracy. We must have law and

order and not get panicky. It is not British to do so."
