Changeable But Impraving WELLINGTON, March 10. The weak trough of low pressure is moving off to the east and the Dominion is coming under the influence of an intense anti-cyclone which is approaching across the Tasman Sea. Winds: From between south-east and south-west, almost generally strong in exposed positions and gradually decreasing. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits, but slowly decreasing and otherwise slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh southerly winds; moderate to rather rough seas, but wind and sea decreasing from the west. Weather: Cool and rather changeable with some isolated brief showers, but conditions improving. Some light frosts probable inland in Otago and Canterbury. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER Auckland: Overcast, light wind. Hamilton: Cloudy, light wind. Gisborne: Sun and cloud, light wind. Napier: Sunshine, light wind. Palmerston North: Sun and cloud, light breeze.
