SUMMER CUP SERIES AT HOKOWHITU

WINNERS WERE JENNINGS AND R. SHAND

The four-ball bogey, the last of the Summer Cup competitions at Hokowhitu, was played under perfect conditions and it was dominated by B grade players, the points secured by them providing a close finish for the B grade cup. Tho four-ball was won by W. A. Petersen and N. Stubbs jun. with a card of 5-up and next w’ere F. Guinness and K. Struthcrs 4-up.

With all but half a point going to the B grade division there was no alteration in last week’s A grade table, the winner being J. Jennings. In the B grade R. Shand was leading with 18 points with one competition to play and F. Guiness, who has been playing consistently, well, was only two points behind him, with W. A. Petersen (10 points) in third place and G. P. Hunter next with eight. The four-ball bogey was won by Petersen and Stubbs, Petersen getting three points. In second place were Guinness and Struthers, Guiness getting two points to equal Shand’s total. Shand, however, got half a point and the win by finishing third in the fourball and he beat Guinness by that narrow margin for the cup. At the end of the summer cup series the points table was approximately as under:—
