Young Farmers’ Sports
MEETING IN PALMERSTON NORTH There was a good attendance at the Sportsground on Saturday night for a sports meeting conducted by the Wellington provincial council of the Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs. Over 200 members of the organisation took part in various athletic and other events, and tho programme proved full of interest. There was no lack of entrants, the 100 yards championship alone attracting 50 starters, while in the tug-of-war there were over 20 teams.
The sports were capably controlled by officials of the movement, assisted by a number of outsiders. The trophies wero presented by Mr. J. Hodgens, M.P., while a dance on the grass provided a fitting finish to the gathering. Results were as follow:
