PAHIATUA DEFEATS MANGAMAIRE On Saturday afternoon Pahiatua met Mangamaire on tlieir home ground. The day was overcast but fine and Pahiatua won the toss. Four went down for one until J. McKay went in and hit up 50 but was caught by Kendall. J. Sandman was next man in and soon hit up 19 but went out for l.b.w. Welch was the star, bowler for Mangamaire, gaining four for one in Pahiatua s first innings. In the second innings Sandman made G 9 not out and Pahiatua declared when three wickets had fallen for 131. Mangamaire made 29 in their first innings, McKay taking six for 18.
