Representative Council Of Women’s Institutes

As a preliminary to tho second meeting of the Representative Council of the Dominion Federation of Women's Institutes in Wellington last week, a meeting of the Dominion executive was held. On that day members had the opportunity, through tho courtesy of the Dominion president, Miss A. Kane, of meeting at lunch at the Pioneer Club Miss Wakefield, granddaughter of the late Edward Gibbon Wakefield. At the council meeting many matters of policy and constitution were discussed in preparation for the general meeting next July. On Thursday afternoon a visit was paid to the Centennial Exhibition, particularly to view the women’s section, which has been arranged by the Women’s Institutes and Women’s Division, and a tea party was arranged in the restaurant. On Friday the Dominion organiser, Mrs. E. Kelso, conducted an organisers’ school and tho executive concluded the business of tho meeting, tho delegates returning homo on Friday and Saturday.
