Crutchings Advance At Wanganui Sale
FLEECE WOOL ALSO UP Per Press Association, WANGANUI, July 26. A catalogue of 3000 bales of crutchings and a small offering of fleece wool wero submitted to a large and representative bench of buyers at tho winter crutching sale to-day. Prices for crutchings showed an advance of about one penny on the last Wanganui sale and considering their condition were on a par with the recent sale at Wellington. There was practically a total clearance and with the bidding brisk the catalogue was disposed of in an hour and a-half. Good super lines sold at 9d to 10£d, good crutchings at from B£d to 9£d, medium crutchings from 7£d to BJd, and fleece wool for which there was an exceptionally good sale at from lOd to lljd. Fleece wool showed an increase of about 2d on the values at last April’s sale. Southdown lambs mado 9£d and Romney lambs 10£d. America took the bulk of the crutchings with Bradford operating for fleece wool and lambs going to France. Wanganui mill buyers operated for some lines and scourers were after scouring lines.
