Plebiscite on Dairy Guarantee Inevitable

WELLINGTON, July 26. Commenting on the guaranteed price in a newspaper article, the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, said that large numbers of communications had been received from farmers about the matter, and in view of that the Government was holding over for the time being the question of a plebiscite, but unless a substantial number of farmers indicated what they really thought of the matter a plebiscite would be inevitable. “We must find out where %ve are in regard to the guaranteed price and marketing scheme,” he said.
